Reopening of borders and the start of tourism
Although on May the 12th 2020, the Spanish government issued rules of maximum control and security affecting all those who intend to visit Spain from other countries, establishing border controls and a mandatory quarantine of 14 days, last Saturday, the Spanish Prime Minister, Pedro Sanchez, announced that the borders will be reopened from July the 1st 2020, allowing the entry of foreigners to the country, but always complying with security measures and control so that all those who visit us, do so as safely as possible and to prevent further infection.
It should be noted that the government, in order to be able to officially launch tourism this summer, is considering what is known as «safe corridors», transits between countries that are in the same conditions as Spain in order to guarantee the safety of both the traveller and the country being travelled to, establishing common protocols between countries as well as other measures, which no longer provide for quarantine but which guarantee maximum safety for all in order to avoid further outbreaks of Covid19.
Everything necessary is already in place to be able to receive tourists in our country again, as well as those foreigners who have second homes in Spain.
